WHO HIT JOHN? TO PERFORM AT OCTOBER CONCERT
We proudly welcome "Who Hit John?" to the Mangia Mangia Jazz & Blues Concert Stage! Since the inception of this Kalamazoo-based band in 2006, this 5-piece, multi-talented group - consisting of Nick Vander Vliet - mandolin and guitar; Nathan Dannison - fiddle; Josh Keller - guitar, trumpet, and bass; Mark Duval - bass and guitar; and Daniel Stevens - tenor and 5-string banjo, and resonator guitar. "Who Hit John?" is an eclectic mix of Bluegrass, Americana, Roots, Folk, New Orleans-style swing-jazz, a bit of Gypsy Jazz....and, a touch of 'down home country' sprinkled in. Whatever style they are playing...their lively, clap-along canter, tight vocal harmonies, and infectious enthusiasm draws the listener in as they weave a beautiful musical web that make it clear why they are an 'audience favorite.'
Their four CD's include - "Old Gray Road," "Heirloom," "Great Recession Blues," and their latest CD, "Whistle on the Rail." This busy bands' touring schedule includes festivals such as one of this years featured bands for the Bell's 30th Anniversary Funvitational Beer Festival, and a performance at The Ark in Ann Arbor with the Appleseed Collective. Other festivals include...Hoxeyville, HollerFest, Cooper's Glen Music Festival, FarmFest, Earthwork Harvest Festival, and countless performances at venues such as...Kalamazoo State Theater, Bell's Brewery, Founder's, Short's, Salt of the Earth, O'Duffy's, and many more.
